CONCRETE / CARPENTRY WORKERS NEEDED

Westman Premier Homes and Premier Commercial Builders are expanding our crews. We have projects on the go in and around Brandon, and we need your help. The ideal candidates will have a class 3 driver’s licence and proven experience, working well in a team setting as well as independently.

We are looking for skills in the following areas:
•  Concrete Finishing
•  Concrete Labourer
•  Framing / Steel Stud
•  Finish Carpentry
•  Tile Work
•  Other various residential and commercial carpentry skills
•  Did we mention Concrete?

SURVEYOR

Outcome Consultants provides engineering, quality control, and surveying services to the construction industry in the mining, environmental, and civil sectors.

Outcome is in search of a Construction Surveyor and Draftsperson to implement the survey plan for various earthworks projects in northern Manitoba.  To be successful in this role, the surveyor must be able to manage a diverse workload, to operate extended periods outdoors in inclement weather, and to be able to handle tight timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities and lay-out critical structures for projects
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, and other characteristics of terrain.
  • Provide As-Builts for project payments.
  • Maintain accurate survey records and related documentation
  • Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or college diploma in surveying
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Construction Survey
  • Read and interpret construction drawings
  • Knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Trimble DGPS experience required and ability to calibrate and maintain equipment
  • Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Dynamic and positive thinker
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of MS Office, data, surveying and engineering based software
  • Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in safety and quality
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team
  • Must be physically fit, work outdoors in various weather conditions, can regularly carry 20kg of equipment
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, with clean abstract

Job Type:  Three-year contract

Location:   Northern Manitoba (Flin Flon and Snow Lake).  Only candidates currently living in Manitoba or Saskatchewan will be considered
