Jared Jacobson, President, CARM
New and innovative defines the first half of the 2019 season at the Construction Association of Rural Manitoba (CARM).
On behalf of the Executive, Board of Directors and CARM members, we welcome three new team members to the office: Kara Morrice, Kendra Doppler and Bernard “Buzz” Cox.
This year has also brought new members to the Board of Directors. Bart Curtis, Neil Winters, Mike Finley and Jason Lamb all took on new positions at CARM. With the natural handover to the new Board and Executive positions, CARM will ensure that the association is relevant and moving in the right direction for 2020. With the addition of new directors, standing committees have been shuffled with representation from highly engaged industry leaders, creating action plans and high expectations for the rest of 2019 and 2020.
In early March, CARM held its inaugural CARM Summit, complete with tradeshow, lunch, keynote and guest speakers during the afternoon. The event was a tremendous success and the committee is currently working on an expanded and greater version for March 4, 2020. Watch the CARM website and social media to stay informed and to register.
The Annual CARM Golf Tournament, held June 6, was a sold-out event and many thanks go out to all of the sponsors and members who participated and helped to raise over $4,000 for the CARM Community Project Initiative Fund. It was a fantastic day for golf and comradery. The next fundraiser will be held on October 4 with a live auction and entertainment by Calgary’s Burn ‘N’ Mahn Dueling Piano Show. Tickets go on sale in August, the CARM office will keep you updated.
As we move into summer, I wish CARM members and partners a prosperous and safe season, and hope you are able to spend quality time with family and friends.
