Looking Forward to a Future with CARM

By Jared Jacobson, President, CARM

As CARM’s incoming president, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kelvin Orr for all of his time and dedication to the association over the past two years, and to welcome our new board members: Natasha Farren, Rob Mulligan, Scott Jamieson, Cory Vrooman and Derrick Stewart.

Keeping momentum in 2018, CARM is engaged with the Manitoba Prompt Payment Coalition and our members have contributed to the Law Reform Commission Builder’s Lien consultations. We received a record number of Community Project Funding applications from 47 organizations across rural Manitoba, and although all are very deserving applicants, the board will have to make some tough decisions this June. We look forward to sharing the results and photos in the next issue of Building Rural Manitoba.

Over the summer, CARM staff will be organizing and confirming the winter Education and Training series and information will be circulated to members in early September. CARM will also continue with community visits and presentations to help build awareness and solicit feedback from users and suppliers of construction industry services in rural Manitoba. Regular board and committee meetings will resume in September.

I hope that everyone has a great and safe summer.
