2018 CARM Community Project Initiative

By Karen Roe, Executive Director, CARM

I am very pleased to announce the successful applicants for the 2018 CARM Community Project Initiative! It took two months to carefully review and screen the applications, and we are so proud to share the results.

We will be contributing to The Blueberry Jam Music Gathering Committee for construction of their festival stage in Flin Flon, endorsed by CARM member, the City of Flin Flon.

We are also able to assist the Misipawistik Cree Nation Health Authority with the construction of an outdoor classroom in Grand Rapids, endorsed by CARM member, Frontier School Division.

Finally, the Kiwanis Club of Brandon will receive assistance in construction of the Rideau Park Family Pavillion in Brandon, endorsed by CARM member, Donald & Kehler Law Office.

I had the privilege to speak with most of the application representatives and thank everyone for their excellent, detailed information and for their patience during the lengthy process. I wish we had enough funds to help everyone. I also want to thank CARM’s members for contributing to the fundraising activities; your efforts allow us to continue assisting communities across Manitoba.

Further details and photos of the above projects will be included in the next issue of Building Rural Manitoba, along with results of our recent golf tournament fundraiser and upcoming Annual Banquet fundraiser.

I hope that all CARM members and partners have a fantastic summer.
