The Canadian Army is in the process
of acquiring TAP-Vs, a multi-purpose
armoured combat vehicle for use in domestic
and expeditionary operations. The
vehicles will be distributed to bases across
Canada, including CFB Shilo.
“It’s really almost four different projects
rolled into one,” said David Hofer,
project manager at Excel-7. “There are
two new steel building storage facilities
and two projects involving renovations to
existing buildings.”
The work package includes:
• Building N-133 – A new pre-engineered
Robertson Steel building (25.2 metres x
26.4 metres) with eight TAP-V bays.
• Building C-107 – A new pre-engineered
Robertson Steel building (32.2 metres x
52.6 metres) with 16 TAP-V bays.
• Building G-400 – An existing building
being fitted with a vehicle exhaust
extraction system upgrade to facilitate
the storage of four TAP-Vs.
• Building Q-102 – An existing building
undergoing interior renovations, including
a mechanical system upgrade to
permit the storage of eight TAP-Vs.
