Brandon & District Labour Council – Worker Appreciation Event

Dear: Construction Association of Rural Manitoba

On September 27th the Brandon and District United Way would like to invite you and fellow union members to our first annual Worker Appreciation supper at Houston’s (3130 Victoria Ave) at 5:00pm with the formal portion happening at 6pm, and is sponsored by the Brandon and District Labour Council. The event is a Suds spuds and steak style meal so no need for the fancy attire. This event is a way to show appreciation for all the hard work that workers in Westman have done in the last few years. Our hopes is that we can fill Houston’s with the hard working workers of the Westman area. Our special guest for the night will be former Winnipeg United Way Labour representative, and current president of CUPE Manitoba Gina McKay, Who will present before supper on the importance of the Labour Community connection.  We will also be having Kevin Rebeck of the Manitoba Federation of Labour hosting for the evening.  There will be a 50/50 and door prices at the event.

We have made every effort to keep tickets as low as possible at $15 a person in an effort to hopefully increase the amount of workers able to attend. Though this is a worker appreciation supper this is also a great time for your executive’s to connect, reconnect and network with your members attending. Tickets are being sold exclusively through these asks to Unions. Attached is a poster for the event. All proceeds from the event will go towards the United Way Labour Program and its initiatives some of which we will also hear about at this event.

Let’s Show how much we appreciate the hard work and dedication of our Brandon and Westman Workers.

In solidarity
